This project involved a complete removal of all fixtures and fittings, the room was enlarged, the floor vinyl was removed and replaced with a cement latex floor tiled with R13 anti slip tiles. New plumbing was fully recessed behind the tiles. Walls were fully tiled floor to ceiling with a mosaic glass border. Aqualisa thermostatic shower fitted with additional thermostatic safety control. Humidity control linked to extractor. Sink was reduced in size and fitted at a height the customer could access with his wheelchair. Toilet fitted was a CLOS O MAT Palma Vita with remote pressure pad control and was placed on 100mm plinth to ensure customer had the height he wanted. Various grab handles and and support rails and shower seat were fitted to meet exact customer requirements.
"This year Columba undertook the job of rebuilding and refurbishing our wetroom for my husband who has motor neurone disease. Columba spent a considerable amount of time and effort researching suitable equipment and the best possible arrangement of the toilet, shower and sink, and met on several occasions with Occupational Therapists at our home. He was very sensitive to my husband's disability and determined to give him the best result.
